A FOX AND A CRANE
Once a fox and a crane became friends. So, the fox invited the crane to dinner. The crane accepted the invitation and reached the fox�s place at sunset.
The fox had prepared soup for his mate. But as we all know that foxes are cunning by nature, he served the soup in flat dishes. So, he himself lapped the crane�s share with his tongue enjoying its relish a lot. But the crane could not enjoy it at all with his long beak and had to get back home hungry. The shrewd fox felt extremely amused.
After few days, the crane invited the fox to dine in with him. The fox reached his place well in time. The crane gave him a warm welcome and served the soup in a jug with a long and narrow neck.
So, the crane enjoyed the soup with great relish using his long beak. The fox�s mouth couldn�t reach the soup through the narrow neck of the jug. He had to return home hungry. Now he realized that he had been repaid for his behaviour with the crane.

TAKE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN HOLD
Once a boy found a jar lying by the way-side. It had a narrow-neck and was full of peanuts. Seeing the peanuts the boy�s mouth started watering. So, he put his hand into the jar and held as many peanuts as his hand could grasp. But when he pulled it out, he couldn�t do so. So, he felt disappointed and started crying.
A man was looking at the boy from a distance. He came to the boy and said, �Don�t be greedy. Be satisfied with half the nuts at one time. You will be able to get your hand out. You can have more with a second trial.�
The boy acted as the man said and was happy to get the nuts. He thanked the man and went away.

HOUSE ON FIRE
Once taking a night stroll, Michael saw fire coming out of his neighbour�s house. He shouted, �Fire! Fire!� but there was nobody to hear his shouts.
Michael called the fire department. Meanwhile, he tried to get into the house. Somehow he succeeded to break into the house and rescued a cat. The fire was spreading into other rooms also when luckily the fire engine arrived. The firemen soon put out the fire.
When the neighbours came back, they were very sad seeing the condition of their house but thanked Michael for saving their cat.

THE DOG AND THE THIEF
On a Sunday afternoon Sunny�s parents were not at home. He was feeling bored. So, he decided to go and watch a cricket match. He left his dog, Snoopy in the house.
Just after Sunny had left, a thief forced open the window. He entered the house and started searching the rooms. He took all the valuables but when he was about to leave, he saw Snoopy standing in front of him, growling.
The dog was about to pounce on him when Sunny returned home. He asked Snoopy to calm down and handed over the thief to the police.

THE HORSE RIDING
Jimmy was a very fat boy. He always used to be sad because of his obesity. So, he decided to consult a doctor. He said to the doctor, �How can I reduce my weight? Everybody teases me at the school.�
The doctor advised him to exercise daily. After few days, he again went to the doctor and complained that despite of exercising, he couldn�t reduce his weight rather, putting on weight.
The doctor asked him what exercise he was doing. Jimmy replied, �I go for horse riding everyday. The result is that I gained weight while the horse .�
The doctor laughed and showed him how to exercise.

THE CAT SCAN
One day, Ricky�s dog got seriously ill. So, he took it to a veterinary doctor. The doctor examined the dog and declared it to be dead.
Ricky felt very sad and asked the doctor, �Doctor, are you sure that my dog is dead? Kindly perform some tests and confirm it to me.�
The doctor agreed and asked his assistant to bring a cat. The cat sniffed the dog and went to the other room without any reaction. Thus, it was confirmed that the dog was dead.
When Ricky asked for the bill, the doctor demanded two hundred dollars. When Ricky asked why the bill was so high, the doctor replied, �Cat scan is really very costly.�

THE EGG PLOY
Once in a city there were two neighbours Harry and Danny. Harry would always remain tense as the hens of his neighbour daily used to enter his garden and ruin it.
One day Harry came to know that Danny was away. So, he placed some eggs in the garden. When Danny returned home and saw Harry picking up the eggs, he asked him, �Harry, you have no hens. Then where did you get these hens from?�
Harry innocently replied, �Some hens come in my garden and lay eggs. I am lucky to get free eggs daily.� Since that day, the hens of Danny never entered the garden of Harry.
